On Labor Day weekend, we had two parties: one in my house, and one in Wenzheng’s house, for HAU alumni in Houston area.

And we had two guests of honor from other regions: Xiaochun Zhou (78, Genetics) from Los Angeles, and Hong Luo (78, Genetics), from Temple, Texas (3 hours driving distance). The HAU alumni attendees in Houston area include me (79, Vet Medicine), Xiaomei Zhang (79, Vet Medicine) and Rong Cai (HAU faculty) couple, Wenzheng Zhang (78, Genetics), Fangming Xie and Luman Zhao couple (both are 77, Agr). Nan Zhang (77, Vet Medicine) was not able to come due to lobster allergies in a friend’s house, and Jinke Chen (79, Vet Medicine) was absent because of pre-arranged family vacation.

Prof. Zhong Jun-Cai and Prof. Fu Ling-Yu couple (teachers at Dept of Vet Med) with their son’s family (Zhong Jian) hosted the party. Prof. Li Liang-Zao and Prof. Sun Xiao-Ming couple (former Head & teacher at Dept of Agri. Engineering) with their daughter’s family (Li Tong-Hua) came from NY. Prof. Liang Zhong-Hao and Xiao E-Ying couple (Dean’s office), and their daughter’s family (Liang Zhao) and son’s family (Liang Shan) joined the party from PA. Dr. Pang Hang and Feng Qihua couple (alumni from Dept of Animal Science & Vet Med), and Prof.

Most of them are from 77 Class of Animal Science: Dr. Lei Xingen couple (Prof. of Animal Nutrition at Cornell Univ.), Dr. Ma Xiaojing couple (Prof. of Immunology at Cornell Univ.), Dr. Pang Hang & Feng Qihua couple, Mr. Zhou Yongjing (Vice Mayor of Changde City, Hunan), and Ms. Li Juan couple (worked in Dept of Tea, HAU). We had a delicious dinner and a great time together!

Li Wenbin (79, Horticulture), Liu Xiong (81, Agriculture), Wu Yuexuan (81, Agriculture), Zhang Junping (81. Agriculture), and Ren Huifei (79, Horticulture)/Zhou Dingbo(77,Horticulture)appeared. We chatted, ate, drank, sang and played pingpong and poker.....we had a wonderful time.

The girl, Tina, is the daughter of Hu Jingsheng/Chen Yanping. She is a fresheshman of MIT. The biger boy is Alan and the younger one is Charley.
